The Iridium SBD 9603
Allows the user to take advantage of Iridium global network and also gives the capability of two way communications.
The new Iridium 9603 is the latest transceiver available from Iridium. The 9603 offers the smallest form factor of any commercial satellite transceiver available today and is also one-forth the volume and half the footprint of the Iridium 9602.
The Iridium 9603 is a revolution in scale, the compact transceiver is the worlds smallest commercially available two-way satellite data modem. It is designed especially for those who need to create smaller devices but still want to take advantage of having global coverage.
How it Works
The Iridium SBD 9603 is a single-board core transceiver that comes in a 'black box' format. The device's interfaces are provided through a single, multi-pin interface connector and an antenna connector, with additional end-user field application functions (e.g. GPS, microprocessor-based logic control, digital and analogue inputs and outputs).
The SBD 9603 does not incorporate or require a SIM card. It can be integreated into a variety of wireless data applications or retrofied into existing SBD-only applications. The Iridium 9603 supports Iridium's Short Burst Data capability, but not support voice, circut, switched data or short message service (SMS).
